Your First Meeting

Now that you've installed the extension, let's capture your first meeting and explore what IceCubes can do.

Starting a Meeting

Join any supported meeting

Start or join a Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams meeting. IceCubes automatically detects when you're in a meeting.

Captions are enabled automatically

The extension will enable captions/live transcription if they aren't already on. You'll see a sidebar panel appear with the live transcript.

Tip: Enable captions before the meeting

For best results, turn on captions at the start of the meeting. This ensures the transcript captures everything from the beginning.

During the Meeting

While in a meeting, you can:

  • View live transcript - The sidebar shows real-time transcription with speaker names
  • Take notes - Use the notes section to jot down important points
  • Mark speakers - Identify which speaker is you for better tracking

After the Meeting

Once your meeting ends, the transcript is automatically synced to your IceCubes dashboard. Here's what you can do:

Generate AI Summary

Click "Generate Summary" to create an AI-powered summary with key points, topics discussed, and main takeaways.

Extract Action Items

AI automatically identifies action items mentioned in the meeting. Assign them to team members and track completion.

Add Comments

Add comments to specific parts of the transcript. Mention team members to notify them about important sections.

Edit Transcript

Fix any transcription errors by clicking on a segment. Rename speakers if they weren't identified correctly.

Understanding the Meeting View

The meeting detail page has several sections:

Common First Meeting Issues

Transcript doesn't appear in the sidebar
  • Make sure you're signed in to the extension
  • Check that captions are enabled in the meeting
  • Try refreshing the page
Meeting doesn't sync to the dashboard
  • Wait a few seconds after the meeting ends
  • Check your internet connection
  • Verify you're signed in to the same account in both extension and webapp
Speaker names are wrong

Speaker detection depends on the platform's caption system. You can fix this:

  • Click on a speaker name in the transcript to rename them
  • Mark yourself as "You" for better identification
