Find answers to common questions about IceCubes features, transcripts, AI capabilities, and team collaboration.

General Questions

What is IceCubes?

IceCubes is a meeting transcript capture and collaboration tool. It automatically captures transcripts from Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams, generates AI-powered summaries, extracts action items, and helps teams collaborate on meeting content.

Which meeting platforms are supported?
  • Google Meet — Full support with sidebar integration
  • Zoom — Web client with overlay widget
  • Microsoft Teams — Web client with overlay widget

Desktop apps are not currently supported. Use the web versions of Zoom and Teams for best results.

Do I need to be the meeting host?

No, you can capture any meeting you're a participant in. However, live captions or transcription must be enabled in the meeting, which may require host permissions on some platforms (especially Zoom).

Are other participants notified when I capture?

IceCubes does not notify other participants. It captures the same captions you see on your screen—no additional recording or data collection occurs beyond what's already displayed in the meeting.

Important: Check your organization's policies about meeting transcription. Some companies require consent from all participants.

Transcripts

Why is my transcript missing parts?

Missing transcript content can occur for several reasons:

  • Captions weren't enabled from the start of the meeting
  • Network connectivity issues during the meeting
  • Audio quality problems affecting speech recognition
  • Platform-specific transcription delays or failures

For best results, enable captions before the meeting starts and ensure a stable internet connection.

Can I edit transcripts?

Yes! Click on any transcript segment to edit the text. You can correct misheard words, fix speaker names, or add clarifications. All edits are saved automatically.

How accurate is the transcription?

Transcription accuracy depends on the meeting platform's caption system. Generally, you can expect 85-95% accuracy for clear audio with native English speakers.

Factors that can reduce accuracy:

  • Technical jargon and acronyms
  • Heavy accents or non-native speakers
  • Overlapping speech or crosstalk
  • Background noise or poor microphone quality

AI Features

What are AI credits and how do they work?

AI features like summaries, action item extraction, and meeting chat consume credits. Each account has a monthly credit allocation based on your plan:

  • Free: Limited monthly credits
  • Pro: Generous monthly allocation
  • Business: Unlimited credits

Credits reset at the beginning of each billing cycle.

Can AI summaries be inaccurate?

Yes, AI summaries are generated from transcript text and may occasionally miss context, misinterpret statements, or omit important details. Always review AI-generated content for accuracy before sharing or acting on it.

How do AI-generated action items work?

After a meeting ends, IceCubes analyzes the transcript to identify tasks, commitments, and follow-ups mentioned during the conversation. It extracts these as action items with suggested assignees based on context.

You can edit, reassign, or delete any AI-generated action items.

Organizations & Collaboration

How do organizations work?

An organization represents your company or team. Organization members have different permission profiles that determine what meetings they can access:

  • Admin: Full access to all organization meetings and settings
  • Manager: Access to their own meetings and their team members' meetings
  • Team Member: Access to their own meetings and meetings shared with them
  • Member: Access to their own meetings only
Can I be in multiple organizations?

Yes! You can be a member of multiple organizations. This is useful if you work with different teams, clients, or companies. Each organization has its own members and permission structure.

Who can see my meetings?

Meeting access is based on several factors:

  • Ownership: You always see meetings you recorded
  • Participant email: If your email appears as a participant
  • Explicit sharing: If someone shares the meeting with you
  • Organization access: Based on your permission profile and team hierarchy

Managers can see their team members' meetings, enabling team oversight and coaching.
