Billing & AI Credits
Understand how free AI summaries and AI credits work, manage your subscription, and upgrade your plan.
Free AI Summaries
AI-generated meeting summaries are free on all plans, including the Free plan. To prevent abuse, free summary operations are subject to governor limits:
- 10 per day — resets at midnight
- 300 per month — resets at the start of each billing period
Insights, action items, and next steps use AI credits (see below). When auto-generate runs on meeting end, only the summary is free — insights and next steps consume 1 credit each.
Plans
IceCubes offers four plans — the main differentiator is AI credits:

All plans include unlimited meeting transcription on Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams, plus free AI summaries.
Free Trial
New free users get 50 AI credits in their first month, then 15 AI credits/month ongoing. AI summaries are always free. Upgrade to any paid plan for more credits. Transcription and integrations continue to work on the free plan.
What uses AI credits?
Each of these operations uses 1 AI credit:
- Send a message in Meeting Explorer
- Send a message in IceCubesGPT
- Extract action items & next steps
- Extract sales insights
- Live Assist query (knowledge base search during meetings)
- Auto-generate insights and next steps on meeting end
The following are free and do not use credits:
- Generate a meeting summary
- Auto-generate summary on meeting end
Credit reset
Chat credits reset at the start of each billing period. Unused credits do not roll over. You can see your current usage and reset date in Settings > Billing.
What happens when credits run out?
When you've used all your AI credits for the month:
- AI summaries remain free
- All your existing transcripts, summaries, and data remain fully accessible
- You can still record and transcribe new meetings
- Insights, action items, AI chat, and Live Assist are paused until credits reset or you upgrade
IceCubes will show you a prompt to upgrade when you run out of AI credits.
Managing your subscription
Go to Settings > Billing to:
- Upgrade or change plan: Click "Upgrade Plan" or "Change Plan" to select a new plan
- Manage billing: Click "Manage Billing" to open the Stripe Customer Portal where you can update your payment method, view invoices, or cancel
Upgrading
When you upgrade, your new credit limit takes effect immediately. You'll be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your current billing period.
Downgrading
When you downgrade, you keep your current plan until the end of the billing period. The new (lower) plan takes effect at the start of the next period.
Cancelling
You can cancel anytime. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period, then reverts to the Free plan. No data is deleted when you cancel.
Payment issues
If a payment fails, Stripe will automatically retry over the next two weeks. During this time you keep access to your plan. If all retries fail, your plan will be downgraded to Free. You can update your payment method at any time via Settings > Billing > Manage Billing.
