Microsoft Teams
IceCubes captures Microsoft Teams meeting transcripts through an in-page overlay widget that works with all Teams versions.
How It Works
When you join a Microsoft Teams meeting, IceCubes:
- Detects the Teams meeting page (teams.microsoft.com)
- Displays a draggable overlay widget in the meeting window
- Captures captions as they appear
- Captures speaker names and timestamps
- Syncs to your IceCubes account in real-time
Requirements
- Browser: Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
- Teams version: Web client (teams.microsoft.com)
- Extension: IceCubes extension installed and signed in
- Live captions: Must be enabled in the meeting
The Overlay Widget
Unlike Google Meet and Zoom, Teams uses an in-page overlay widget:
- Draggable: Move the widget anywhere on the screen
- Resizable: Adjust the size to fit your needs
- Minimizable: Collapse when you need more screen space
- Live transcript: Shows real-time captions with speakers
- Copy/Export: Copy transcript to clipboard
Supported Teams Versions
IceCubes supports the Microsoft Teams web client:
| Version | Support Level | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Teams Web (Modern) | Full | Primary supported version |
| Teams Web (Classic) | Full | WebSocket fallback capture |
| Teams V2 | Full | Full caption capture |
Note: The Teams desktop app is not supported. Please use the web client at teams.microsoft.com.
Enabling Live Captions
To enable live captions in Microsoft Teams:
- Join a Teams meeting
- Click the "..." (More actions) button

- Captions will appear at the bottom of the meeting window
IceCubes will attempt to enable captions automatically when available.
